Root, leaf, flower and fruit are the backbones of "4 amb 5" cuisine. Beautiful vegetables are the main attraction on the plate, with a side of meaty or fishy protein.
The simple but lovely restaurant is located in Raval. We had the tasting menu, which was inventive, yummy and surprising (Oyster Leaf anyone?). To be honest, i can´t explain the deep meaning of their name "4 amb 5" to you, even though I am sure there is one. From the cryptic description in the menu I understood that the restaurant grows, pickles and ferments most of their vegetables themselves "as an hommage to agriculture and its relationship with the cosmos and nature."
BAMM. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
