Holiday Poem from Mrs. Pickelle
He She It | 12.15.16

Our singing group
is gearing up to entertain.
We're practicing our parts
and reviewing old refrains.

Our harmonies are clear,
our delivery sincere
and the residents in nursing homes
expect us every year.

Our collared shirts are a shocking shade of pink
and our necklaces of pearl actually look real.
When we don our furry Santa hats
there's no limit to our appeal!

Our repertoire is simple and it sells.
We sing Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire,
Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells.
We stir up memories with White Christmas and Silent Night
then rouse the crowd with Hanukkah, Holiday, Festival of Lights!
Finally, we take a tambourine, color our noses red,
and add Rudolf to the scene.

If they can, our audience will chime in
and join our joyful musical din.
Sometimes we give them bells to jingle
and sing the wonders of dear Kris Kringle.
This year we'll go to the hospital too
to sing to the patients who may feel blue.
Hopefully, they'll like our style and we'll leave them with a great big smile!
